Don't let spammers see your "Out of Office"
Configuring your email program to automatically return "Out of Office" notifications to email senders is good for internal CTS users, but it can provide important details to a spammer, if permitted to leave the agency network. Configure your message replies to recognize only internal email.
Even a little bit of information can do a lot of damage in a spammer’s hands.
To setup Outlook to send “Out of Office” notifications to only CTS users, go to Outlook, then click on “File” then “Automatic Replies (Out of Office)”
Now when you fill out your normal Out of Office reply in the “Inside My Organization” tab, don’t forget to hop over to the “Outside My Organization” tab and uncheck the “Auto-reply to people outside my organization” box.
