The State Office of CyberSecurity, OCS, is here to ensure that you can go about your daily life without interruption.

That’s more complicated than it sounds.

We live in an increasingly connected world where the critical infrastructure we depend on – trains, planes, utilities and even the grocery store down the street – can be disrupted by a cyberattack.

OCS works to protect Washington from cyber threats by constantly monitoring state networks to detect, prevent and respond to cyberattacks, using a broad range of cutting-edge tools. The office helps prevent and mitigate cyberattacks before they can cause significant damage.

In addition, the office helps state and local government agencies build more secure networks using the latest technology. OCS also has teams that can respond on a moment’s notice to help agencies deal with cyber threats.

We encourage you to protect your personal information as you go about your daily business. Please check back with us regularly to learn about more about cybersecurity, and get the latest information on best practices.
